How not to get your ex back

Just about everyone who has had a relationship break-up knows that it can sometimes be tricky to get your ex to want to get back together with you. There are a number of techniques that can be used to help to persuade their ex to come back into their life and their relationship.

Not all of these methods work, and occasionally, may in fact cause you to ruin your chances of getting back together. Here are a couple of these tips that you should avoid in order to improve your chances of successfully getting back together with your ex.

Don’t try too hard to get your ex back

By showing your ex that you are super eager to get back together can be repellant for a lot of exes. If you want to avoid growing the distance between you and your ex, don’t push your ex away, but try to avoid being too eager to get back together.

Don’t go throwing yourself at them, and avoid simply trying to please them to the point that you are willing to do everything that your ex will ask of you. Imagine if the positions were reversed, and it was you receiving all the attention. You would probably find it smothering as well, so don’t do it yourself.

Don’t be too friendly with your ex

Whilst being friends with your ex is understandable, finding yourself becoming too friendly with you ex can become a problem quite easily. This is especially true as you will possibly still be harboring romantic feelings for your ex. Being too friendly with your ex can lead you into some situations that you probably don’t want to deal with while you are separated.

You need to bear in mind that the normal rules applying to couples don’t apply to you at the moment.  This means that there is a greater chance that you will be put in an awkward situation. This in turn can lead you to do something totally out of character, which you will later regret.

This lapse on your part can make your ex look at you in a new , and probably, unfavourable light and might totally ruin your chances of getting back together with your ex.

Don’t try to make your ex jealous

Trying to make your ex jealous by dating someone else is one of the worst things that you can do for several reasons.
1. It won’t necessarily make your ex want to get back together with you, and it can have the opposite effect and drive your ex further away from you. It may even make them find someone else to go out with.

2. It is not fair on the person that you choose to go out with. You are not looking for a relationship at the moment, but simply trying to find a way to get your ex back.

3. This is not a good time to start a new relationship. Just after a break-up your emotions are all over the place, and you will surely make bad decisions.

You need to remember that trying to make your ex jealous rarely works, and even if you did make your ex jealous, there is a good chance that your ex may retaliate by making you jealous instead. If that happens, then you would be caught simply trying to outdo each other, and this never ends happily.

Don’t try to force your ex back to you

Trying to force your ex want to get back together with you will create more problems for you. Nobody likes to be made to do something, so the initial reaction of your ex may well be irritation with you. If your ex gets annoyed enough, then you can kiss your chances of getting back together goodbye.

Even if you manage to get your ex to agree to get back together with you, the probability is that they will not stay in your relationship for long because it wasn’t a decision they made for themselves. If you truly want your ex to get back together with you, trying to bully them and force them to do so is not the way to go about it.
