How to tell if your ex wants to get back together.

After a relationship breakdown,when your emotions are starting to settle down a little, have you ever thought about  getting back together with your ex, but you find yourself unsure whether your ex is feeling the same way or not? This can be quite a common feeling to have. Before attempting a reconciliation with your ex, you need to consider several points.

What caused your relationship to break up in the first place, is there a way to resolve the problems that caused your break-up? Are you simply wanting to get back together with your ex because you’ve been with them for a long time, and are scared about committing to a new relationship? Do you still have genuine feelings for your ex?

If you are wanting to get back together with your ex, but feel unsure about their feelings, then this article can help you determine if your ex wants to get back together with you or not. Some of the signs that might indicate that your ex wants to get back together with you are given below.

Your ex keeps in contact with you constantly.

If you find that your ex is constantly trying to call or text you, or if they are always turning up, or trying to find ways to see you or talk to you, then that can be a sure sign that your ex wants to work things out with you and get back together.

Observe the frequency of these contacts, as the more frequent these attempts are, the higher the probability that your ex is considering rekindling your relationship. One thing to bear in mind is that someone who doesn’t wish to be forgotten will try to avoid letting any distance develop between themselves and the person that they have feelings for.

You should however be aware that some people after a break-up, will behave in this manner for different reasons. They may contact their ex, and try to get back with them simply to see if they can, it can also be a form of controlling behaviour to try and stop their ex from moving on with their life.

Constantly brings up your past relationship.

When you and your ex do meet, and you are talking to each other , try to notice if your ex keeps bringing up topics about your past relationship. Another thing to watch out for is if your ex keeps saying things like “do you remember when we went to..”, or “do you remember the time we ……”.

Your ex is referring to your past relationship  like this in the hope that you will reminisce with him and remember all the good times that you had with each other. This is in the hope that you will think more positively about them, and think about their good qualities, no the bad ones.

What you need to do is weigh up the good and the bad points about your past relationship. Your ex will only talk about the good points, but if you are wanting to get back with your ex successfully, you also need to talk about the problems that you had together, and how you are going to resolve them. Otherwise you will be running into the same problems again in the future.

Your ex takes an interest in your social life.

When your ex wants to know about your dating status, that can be an indication of interest in you still. Whenever your ex wants to get information about if you are dating, or who you are dating,  they may just be asking just to see where they stand in your social life.

If you do start dating again, and your ex finds out , you may notice a change in their attitude towards you, they may show jealousy or may try to spoil your new relationship. This change in their behaviour may be because they fear they might lose you to someone else if you continue to date. This may be because they are still harbouring hopes of getting back together with you,

Gets jealous easily.

Since you and your ex are broken up, you might think about using this opportunity to see how  interested your ex is by seeing their reaction whenever they see you on a date with someone else. Most of the time, if your ex reacts in a jealous way, then they definitely still have feelings for you. Be careful if you are thinking about using this technique however,  this can actually backfire on you and cause more problems, instead of just finding out your ex’s interest with getting back together. This can actually drive your ex further away from you if you aren’t careful.

If you have started to date again, you need to ask yourself some questions. Are you dating just to try to make your ex jealous? If this is the case, it isn’t fair on either the person you are dating, and isn’t fair on your ex either. Do you actually want to get back with your ex, or are you trying to move on with your life? Is your ex becoming jealous because you are dating and they aren’t?
